Dinner at Vie w/ Sean & Kara

Notice Mitts in the corner. He was a perfect dinner date, even at a fancy restaurant - he woke once for a feed and then fell asleep in my arms.
A seared tuna starter - nicoise style with grean beans, potatoes, olives, egg, etc. 'Twas yum. Kara and I are coveting the Orrefors votive holders to the left of the plate (hint hint to any gift purchasers :) Also notice the cork - a DELICIOUS 2003 Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. Yum, yum, yum.

My entree was my dream come true (unfortch no pix of it): local pork combination: wood-grilled loin, slow-cooked fresh bacon, “macaroni and cheese” with ham, Werp Farm kale, cipollini aigre-doux, and Klug Farm blackberry jam.

Trip to the Morton Arboretum

Post snack in the arboretum's gift shop - he's a happy camper.

Really, I was happy :) You can see how warm it has been with the snow melting. It was between 50 and 60 most days I was there.

BTW, this is a GREAT arboretum. There are snowshoe rentals (obvs w/ more snow) and x-country trails, running trails, and a ton of cool things for kids. It was packed with people as it was one of the first nice days in a long time and I think folks had cabin fever.
